This has to end

Corry entered the Mansion 150k tonight but because she has to get up early in the morning I took over for the last hour.

We were always close to the bubble but I chose the moments well. With 900 runners it was actually well paced for ipoker and we were down to 103 runners with 100 paid.

We had been waiting patiently for the moment to push and woke up in 2nd position with QQ. Push it was for 14k (blinds 1/2) and it was instacalled by position 4. He had the same amount of chips as me, so whoever lost was going to be bubble boy for sure.

All slowly folded round and I began to realise for him to make this call he obv has KK or AA. I am doomed. How delighted was I to see him turn over AQ and I just could not believe how bad it was to wait 4 hours, with 6 or 7 people on less than 3,000 chips and he calls his tournament with AQ!!!

I was more than happy to take the flop though!

23Q BINGO!!!!

Now let's go win this thing for 35k. I felt good and was looking forward to a late night.

Turn 5
River 4

I could not believe what had just happened.

I completely lost the plot in the chat which I have not done for a long time. I guess it wasn't the worse call in the world, but just so stupid. If I had run into KK or AA then so be it. Shit luck. But for someone to make that call with so many shortstacks just defies belief. And then to get so lucky and even more cocky in the chat screen just sent me over the edge.

BIG ONE IS MOST DEFINITELY COMING!!

Footnote: I just checked back in to see if the tosser was still gobbing off and surprise...

CP819719 is chip leader with 160,000 chips!!!

Shocking Run

After the sick exits from yesterday's live games, confidence was low.

It is now lower than ever.

Wasn't up for cash tonight, so played two MTT on ipoker for Bad Beat and the missus had a go for the Daddy while I egged her on!

$10k gteed
Allin with AA v KQ v A7! Appaling attrocious, call it what you will but yes they were the hands up against my AA. The Q high flop and Q turn was almost inevitable.

$12,500 gteed.
Needing a double and wake up in mid position with TT. Early limper for 100, so no point in little reraise to commit and miss. Allin for 1,700. Easy call for the early position's A7 and of course his bravery was rewarded for 80% of his stack as the A hit.

Laddies Daddy.
Approaching the money and the missus makes a button raise with JJ. BB bangs it allin and she wanted to fold. I persuaded her to call and he shows AJ. Perfect! Except for the obvious A on the flop and out she goes. Of course as I left it, the player with the AJ is chippie and will no doubt go on to win with that sort of class.

All I can say is watch this space, because...

BIG ONE COMING!!!

Rugrat's Golf Day

Absolutely great night, but a sick one from my own personal poker point of view.

The Main Event
We are down to the last 29 players. The player before me went allin out of the blue and I was on the button with AK. He had enough chips for a standard raise and the more I looked at him the more worried he looked. So I pushed allin over the top.

I was delighted to see KQ and the read was spot on. First card out was an ace and I felt comfortable to take down a very big pot. Didn't like the 3rd card T too much, but then I made the fatal mistake and said to ther dealer "NO JACK". This broke all my rules of recent weeks where I must call for what I want and not wha I don't want. Sure enough the J hit the river and I was on my way.

Next a STT and I found my BB being constantly pounded by Julesky from the button. At last, AA turns up and again he raises. My allin was not enough to deter his 6-7 off and I was on my way again!

Now to the cash table and I found myself playing very tight considering most of us were completely bladdered. I built up a nice little stack then lost the lot in a hand with the only real danger at the table... Mitchhh.

A raise from Mitchhh and I find myself with JJ in a 4 way pot. The flop was AJ6. What a beauty. Mitchhh came out betting so clearly had an ace. I flat called hoping for one of the other fools to push but alas they folded.

Turn card was another beauty making a board of AJ66. Mitchhh came out betting again and I knew now deep down that he had AA. Absolutely no way out of it and all the money was in the middle. The river 5 made no difference and I sadly turned over JJ for the full house. Mitchhh of course turned over AA for the bigger full house. A sick hand that you might see once a month playing hundreds of hours online, but ho hum. Would rather see the money go to Mitchhh than the idiots from Bath!

Onwards and upwards and in desperate need of a confidence boost!

PROMOTION

Not too much success at MTT of late as the ridiculous plays have reminded me of the crazy amount of luck required to go deep in these tournaments.

I finally put my squiggle to the bad Beat contract, being swayed in the end by an increase in my daily limit to $5,000.

We are moving towards the levels I want to be at and it has all happened very quickly indeed. Although it means I can play at much higher levels, I will move up slowly as I know that I still have a lot to learn to be at the standard of the top players.

I will be continuing with Strummer as my mentor and hopefully we will have more sessions in the future than we have to date. I also live in hope that in between sessions, we can actually communicate by skype text a little better than we have done so far. It can be quite a pain waiting a couple of days for a response when other mentors seems to answer me in seconds just like a mate would. A simple 'brb' is good enough for me, but I am finding being ignored altogether is not conducive to a feeling of being in a 'team'.

Monday is Rugrat's golf and poker day, so I will try to play a few MTT over the weekend to get into the swing of things. Although I have no doubt the evenig will go pretty much the same way as most of my 'live' events have lately. Start well, get drunk, finish poor, get more drunk, play some stt like a fool and... get more drunk. So apologies now to anyone reading this who is there on Monday!

DREAM TEAM WEEKEND

What happens in London...

So please stop asking. I am going to say nothing at all about Lesbian activity, Scandinavian genitals or threesomes with a young german couple, so that's the end of it.

As for poker, I just want to say a big congratualtions to my mate Rivher who won the Dream Team event. Many will be witness to the fact that I declared him the winner on day one and was willing to take bets that he had 'the secret' vibe all over him. I for one was never in doubt and he was certainly due a big one.

I have not played much MTT of late as I have started cash all over again, so there won't be much to brag about this month. I did actually have close to my biggest ever winning cash month in August, but it pales into almost insignificance to the MTT miracles that went on.

So September has started pretty well with 2 from 3 session being big returns. Long may it continue.

And no, there are no more details on the superb Dream Team weekend. But as far as poker weekends go, I would say this ranks as one of the best with old and new friends meeting up and getting bladdered. Some took the poker a bit more serious than others and deserved their payouts, so well done to them. The rest of us had just as much fun! Bring on Killarney! :D
